walk 2009
Join us on Sunday, September 20, 2009 and take a powerful step toward improving the lives of thousands of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS as well as those at risk for infection.
This year we hope to raise over $200,000 for the prevention, care and support services of NO/AIDS Task Force and other Louisiana AIDS service organizations through the Walk Share Grant Program. The NO/AIDS Walk is one of the largest HIV/AIDS fundraisers in Louisiana, which helps improve the lives of thousands affected by this disease.

Why should you sign up?
There are persons living with HIV in every parish in Louisiana and this number continues to increase each year. Over 27,000 cases of HIV/AIDS have been reported in Louisiana since the start of the epidemic. Louisiana currently ranks 5th in state AIDS case rates, with New Orleans and Baton Rouge being the hardest hit. By registering or making a donation you are helping in the local fight against this terrible epidemic.
There is no cure, no vaccine. Only education can prevent AIDS. Each year, the NO/AIDS Walk raises awareness about HIV and AIDS for thousands in the community. By walking with us on September 14th, you are letting people know that we must do everything we can in the fight against this terrible epidemic. In addition, money raised at the walk helps support AIDS service organizations across the state, many of which educate the public on how to prevent AIDS.
Honor a loved one. Walk to commemorate the life of someone who has lost their battle with HIV/AIDS or walk in support of someone living with the disease.
