New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE)

It's alway more fun to walk with friends! We hope you'll join us for the Chevron NO/AIDS Walk 2016 at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, at Audubon Park.

New Orleans ranks third in the nation for new HIV infection diagnoses and has a higher number of people in at-risk populations than elsewhere; primarily African Americans, LGB, and a growing transgender population. Furthermore, 30.3% of New Orleanians are age 50 or older. For those of us at NOAGE (New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders), the only local organization devoted to advocacy and service for LGBT elders, it is very important that this population not be overlooked. We must do all we can to ensure that our GLBT elders have the best possible health, and that requires a focus on prevention and care. NOAIDS Task Force has been providing the most comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment for decades, and we at NOAGE are excited for the chance to do our parts to help them raise the funding they need to keep up their important work.
