Welcome to the NO/AIDS WALK 2013
Over 3500 people took to the streets on Sunday, September
29th to help raise awareness about AIDS in our community.
Participants also helped raise nearly $200,000 for NO/AIDS Task Force, one of
the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organizations in the Gulf South. The
dollars raised will help the Task Force continue providing care and services to
over 2500 men, women and families affected by this disease. A portion of the
funds raised will also be awarded as small grants to other AIDS Service
Organizations around the state who participated in the Walk Share Grant
The crowd at this year’s NO/AIDS Walk was the largest the
event had seen in years. The diverse groups that come together in support of
NO/AIDS Task Force each year is always impressive. School groups from
elementary schools on up to college and university students, businesses, church
groups, other nonprofits, and families from across the metro area come each
year to support the efforts of the Task Force and help raise much needed funds.
NO/AIDS Task Force would like to thank all of those that
helped to make this year’s event a success, including all of the teams and
individuals that participated in the event, over 200 volunteers that
provided assistance on September 29th as well as the event’s
sponsors which included Chevron, Avita Drugs Pharmacy, Shell, Capital One, Dow,
The Goldring Family Foundation, Macy’s TJX Companies, Louisiana Pizza Kitchen
Uptown, Coors Light, Rain Vodka, NOLA Media Group, The Gambit, New Orleans
Magazine, AmbushMag.com, and Where Y’At.
